Hi all,

After some advice. I know things like kale, parsley, spinach etc are good to give your piggies because of the vitamin c, but I’ve also heard you’re supposed to be careful how much you give them. I’m slightly confused as some places say it’s ok to give it to them daily, others say feed sparingly. Does that mean a small amount every day is fine, or should I only give them a few times a week? I try to vary what they have, so they normally have tomatoes or peppers or carrots or something along with their leafy greens. What veggies do you feed your pigs? Thanks in advance! x

Hi! You should not feed kale, parsley, spinach daily as it can lead to ladder stones due to the excess calcium. Carrots also should should not be fed daily because of the excess of sugar. I’ll post my feeding schedule below. I feed three time a day.

Hi, the veggies you have mentioned are high in calcium which can contribute to bladder sludge and bladder stones in the future which is why it's best to avoid feeding it too often. We have a comprehensive diet guide on the forum which I have linked to below. It's far from perfect but it's a good starting point for what can be fed.

That’s really helpful thanks. So I should choose one of those veggies and use it once or twice a week. They only get carrots once maybe twice a week cos of the sugar. I didn’t know they could have green beans as well, that’s helpful to know. Especially if they can have them daily x

I feed my piggies lettuce , bell pepper , baby corn , spinach , kale , dress , peas , and carrots with the bunched up tops i recommend feeding carrot tops because they have the vitamin c of the carrot without the sugar. As treats i feed carrots apple and strawberry.
