hi all

Maxi a while back ended up with what i believe to be ?cystitis. on reading, believe this maybe due to high calcium diet as lot of calcium in urine and lots of squeeking when passing this. So, for past few months I have changed the ratio with success but now find, when i add a couple of wee high calcium treats i.e. parsley, she starts passing deposits and squeeking again. it doesnt take much at all. Is this normal for some piggies? will total lack of high calcium be detrimental to her diet in other ways?

Thanks Susan

Thanks, Minnie has been checked by vet on a few occasions this year, and there doesn't seem to be anything untoward going on in the background just intermittent symptoms. Her symptoms only arise when high cal treats are being given out obviously this will now have to stop. Maybe its just me as I find some of the food info to be contradictory? If an adult piggie only needs 0.4 calcium then I presume, according to the recommended food ratio 3:2 correlates to 0.4 calcium? (apologies if I'm wrong) Maxi's diet is 1:4 which keeps her symptomless.

Sometimes, I can be prone to information overload. You try do your best, read everything possible and end up with a mish mash! hence all the questions, just wanting a straight answer from someone, rather than endlessly word search, scrolling and reading...

thanks again. sx
