Hey all! What is recommended in terms of vet checks? The vet I'm currently attending has a limit of 2 guinea pig checkups per day to accomodate for pairs. I, however, have four guinea pigs. Should I bring all four to the location and just take out the two that I am planning on getting checked first? (I have a secondary vet visit next week for the other two) Or should I just bring the two getting checked?

The first option seems more likely to avoid breaking the bonds, but I'm not sure.

Hello. I think it would be ok to take all four and only get two checked over. Can’t see it being a problem. Hope they get a clean bill of health. 😃

Thank you! Unfortunately they have ringworm, so we’re going to get it checked out and get medication for it haha.

If the first two are seen and it is ringworm then the vet may not need to see the other two next week as I think you will be treating all four of them anyway. There are helpful guides at the top of the page about ringworm. Have a read up. 👍🏻

I want the other two to be seen anyway, just to make sure they're otherwise healthy haha

I would send all four into the vet. Just say that they are there for support and keep their bonds in place.

:agr: Take them all.

If you have a ringworm diagnosis. Please do strictly follow the amazing guides on here:

Ringworm: Hygiene And Pictures

It can be a pain but you can rid of it, and most importantly prevent its return!

Do be careful with handling and hand washing as it is a zoonotic parasite. We have had outbreaks of ringworm in both the horses and piggies (and the piggies gave it to me)!

I've already caught it haha! I've already purchased F10 and am waiting to deep clean until they're started on medications. That is such a great thread!

Have you made it to the vet this week? If so, did the vet see all 4 of the piggies?
