Is anyone able to recommend a vet in the SE London / Beckenham area? Eden Park Veterinary Surgery the most convenient but not sure how specialised in guinea pigs it is. I would be prepared to travel a bit further for a cavy specialist - have noted that surgery in Orpington is recommended but would be grateful to hear of others.

Any good experiences at Eden Park Surgery would help me make my mind up.

Have you had a look on the vet locator?

The Ark Guinea Pig rescue recommends Bromley Common Vets, as head vet specialises in cavy care and exotics. I shall be registering with them!

Local reputable rescues are a good source of local info for vets, supplies and holiday boarding in my experience. Glad you’ve got this sorted.

Let us know how you get on there. We can always add them to our vet locator if you think they are good (that's how all the other ones have ended up on there)

If you’ve registered with one vet, how do you change to be registered at another? I use Putlands in Paddock Wood but Bromley would be closer (and more convenient if I need to get to an appointment in terms of work schedule).

I’m registered at 4 lol, if there’s ever been an issue that’s been observed by one vet, when I’ve been to another one for a 2nd opinion, they email the details through.

I have had two good experiences there - first the check up, and then a check for mites. There are two vets in the team that specialise in exotics, and I felt the vet we saw had a very caring approach to the piggies, (and their owners!)

That's excellent news, its always so reassuring when you find a good vet you can trust. I hope @sport_billy can help get them added to our vet locator cos I don't know what I am doing :lol!:

I may have to move vets...though the vet we last saw was marvellous. It’s just a bit of a trek
