The only vet on the Vet Locator in Cumbria is Millcroft which is the wrong end of the county for me but I am happy to go there if they are good. I see from their website they have two exotic vets (Vikki Temple and Rachael Wallis). Does anyone have any experience with either of them? Do you know which surgery they work at?
Any other good guinea vets in Cumbria?
Thanks.

Vikki is based at Cockermouth and the practice is absolutely fantastic (just make sure to ask for a piggy savvy vet). Well-priced too in my experience.

@BossHogg has a little more experience than me at Millcroft, I think.

There may be other good piggy vets, but I'm not aware of any as yet.

I can't praise the practice highly enough, they are fantastic. Clair Welford , one of the partners has dealt with 3 of my pigs and my cat when they were PTS, Clair even sent us sympathy cards! Vikki performed Rebel's castration, apart from a small abscess which cleared in no time, there were little problems and he healed with a very neat scar. The exotics staff are very knowledgeable and treat the clients with the utmost respect. :tu:

Thank you both for your replies. We are in Ulverston so not near any of the locations really. I think I will go to Cockermouth and see Vikki if I can - it sounds like it is definitely worth the journey.
I've tried a vet down here who was lovely but I didn't feel confident in her in diagnosis.

The practice is definitely worth the journey. ;)
