Just came back in 30 mins ago to find Gremlin with a very watery eye. Got him out on to my lap..... He wasn't very impressed with it interrupting his munching. Found what I thought was a small piece of grass under his upper lid and managed to tease it out so I could get hold of it. Turns out it's a nearly 2 inch long piece that was all around his eyelids.... He was VERY unimpressed with the removal of this. So we're off to the vets in an hour to see if there's any scratches etc. At least he'll get made a fuss of by the girls at th

Sending Gremlin healing vibes, poor boy that must be sore. Let us know how you get on.
Peanut has had several eye pokes, he has a strange way of pushing his nose into hay. I find they heal very quickly once he gets the drops from the vet.

He's done it before (on a weekend) and it's bound to happen again, he just loves diving into his hay and running through it.

These things do seem to happen at weekends and bank holidays, it sometimes seems like a conspiracy. Peanut did it on a Sunday last year, my birthday, we'd arranged to meet family quite a distance away for lunch which had to be cancelled. This year he did it during the night after an operation when he was supposed to be resting quietly! We had to take him back to the vet the next day for eye drops.

:agr: 2/3 of my vet appointments so far have been out of hours, on a weekend (pricy!)

Thanks guys, 2 Christmas eves ago he lost one of his nails, blood everywhere.... Lucky there's some great people on here for advice in those situations.

Vet appointment over, poor boy has an ulcer so we have a tube of isathal and a bottle of corneal gel to get through. £57 but he's worth every penny.

Aww bless him, good that you managed to get seen so quickly though. Hopefully with prompt treatment his eye will be much better in no time

All the best! Good that you are dealing promptly with it, so it should heal very quickly again with the appropriate eye drops. :tu:

Poor little guy! Why do they always manage to do these things when the vet is less available? Mine do it too, all the time!
