Hi Everyone. Do any of you know of any guinea pig savvy vets in or near Uxbridge.? Frankies been ill and although he’s getting better I’m not confident that my vet is very knowledgable about piggies.

Please have a look at the link below. I’m afraid most are a bit of a distance away from you. Hope you can have him seen soon.

Many thanks. I’ve taken Frankie to the vets three times over the last five days. He had stopped eating and pooping. The vet gave him metoclopramide and he has improved enormously. I had an issue having to keep asking for medicine to bring home. The vet who’s looked after my piggies in the past shut down last year due to ill health. He wasn’t a piggie expert but knew a vet who was. Ive looked on the forum but can’t a local vet. Unfortunately I don’t drive but I will look again and transport links. Hope you and your piggies are doing well

Sorry to hear you’re having trouble with the vet. If you feel he needs seeing again then keep taking him Nita difficult though because the ones near you are quite far away for a non-driver. And current circumstances make it difficult. I’m not sure if public transport is still working...

What did the vet say could be wrong with him? Is he now eating and pooping again? I think perhaps switch to weighing daily at the same time and see whether he’s able to maintain his weight.
