I'm in Enfield and transport is not a problem my mum said she will take us anywhere needed.

Milly didnt seem well about a mounth ago then see started to get better bit by bit , but lately i have noticed she have got really bad she is under weigh at (600g) and her breathing is odd also her eye problem has come back and it is now a cloudy blue.

thanks

Oh I see. Well, I hope you find out whats wrong with her at the vet and they can treat it rapidly *hugs*

If you are willing to travel for an hour or so, my vet Anne Taylor in Epsom, Surrey is a brilliant piggy vet. Let me know and I will PM you her details :)

Yes this is the vet I went to see the other day too after having failed to find a competent vet anywhere near north London. she really knows her stuff and I would definitely recommend her.

Hi

Yh i took milly to the vets today the one in Enfield as it was the only one open the the bank holiday weekend. The vet said that with regards to her eye she had a small ulcer at the top of her eye.
And as for her breathing the vet said that she could have heart failure but that was ruled out she said because she would have a bloated stomach because her heart would not be doing its job. She checked her breathing of her lungs and windpipe and she said that it was normal, but she said she was breathing like she was struggling to get air a little and maybe she has got and infection or something in her lungs or throat and prescribed some antibiotics . the vet said that if she dont get better over the ten days then she will find a guinea pig clinic that i could that her to as she was not not a specalist in the area.

if i have missed anything please ask .(milly is eating fine and she still has her afternoon chunk of cucumber which she always finishes off nicely with a sleep lol )

The vet was an australian woman (to the woman who recommended her)

thanks please reply if you have an idea whats up ?

Re: Vets milly's visit.

Update

Milly has been on the antibiotics for two days now and i havent noticed a change. She is still eating as normal but her breathing is still weezy is a good way to describe it. My mum thinks that the vet might of missed something because it dont add up so.... if after she has finished her antibiotics there is no inprovement we will take her to get an xray and see if that show up anything.

If you have any clue or surgestions as too what to do comment back .

thanks

One of my piggies had a respiratory infection which cleared up after Baytril injections. However she developed a wheeze two months later, after surgery to investigate the vet believes it to be a tumour.
Fingers crossed you little one olnly has an infection x
