Vibes for Treacle and Megan please...

Treacle was weeing blood last night :( We noticed at 11pm. She is not squeaking and is her normal self, her weight is great also. The urine was pink last night and was quite a shock, we gave her some Metacam in case she was in pain - This morning it was clear but upon testing it there is still blood there. We have an apt at 4:40pm today with our vet.

Megan (our Special needs piggie) has had wet poo problems for the past few weeks, her poo's are really wet... we cut her veg down but didn't remove it all together. Unfortuantely yesterdays poo's were really not good so we are totally removing veg for a few days. Feel really guilty over this, Megan is such a fussy eater and will not really eat hay in the amounts the girls do. We are fibreplexing her and there has been slight improvement, hoping we can get her back to veg soon and she is a very delicate piggie. She is losing a little weight but this will be down to the lack of veg, hoping when she's hungry enough she'll get more hay down her... Hoping we can get her sorted soon.

Why do they always get poorly in pairs?!
 
Get better soon, Treacle and Megan! Illnesses seem to always come in batches as soon as you have several piggies... :{
 
Oh NO!

Poor girlies, come on Treacy bum and Megan. Could you maybe increase Megan's Pellet intake while she is off veg, to keep her weight up?

Difficult as instead of eating her pellets she prefers to pooh on them.

Oh no. Poor babies. I really hope they both get better soon. Maybe Megan would benefit from a trip to the vet?

Yes, I'm thinking of taking her also, but I know the first suggestion will be to remove veg from her diet. She is proboably gonna go along tonight also (make it a family trip) I presume the vet could test a stool sample for any bacteria or parasite causing problems..

Good idea. I was wondering if she may have an infection.

Peronel is taking baytrill twice a day and has a check up tomorrow. My boyfriend is going to have to take her as I am stuck in bed ill. She is still wheeking for food which is a good sign. Thank you for asking.

Really thinking of you and your girls I'm also going through a rough time with my piggie. Keeping everything crossed for all of them x
 
Aww I hope they both feel better soon! Have you tried a different probiotic to see if it has a better impact than the Fibreplex?

Got some Avi-pro plus on order.... Gonna try Pooh soup, especially as Treacle gonna be on it if she on Anti-biotics for UTI... Cookie is gonna have to poo on comand lol :))

Sorry for late update, only just had chance to get back on. Treacle has suspected UTI, but you wouldn't know it (thank goodness) She is her normal bright self eating tons of hay.
Never seen blood before in urine and it was a big shock, luckily today it is normal colour. Will be testing it in a few days time again to see how we are getting along.

Megan has been taken off her veg and has been wormed (just in case) never heard of worming a piggie before.... She is stable in weight having lost non since we stopped veg last night, but looking a tad confused and annoyed due to lack of tea. Just gave her huge cuddles to try and make up for it. Have ordered 4 different types of hay to try and get her eating more fibre..

Aww poor baby is confused. I never told you but before you adopted Megan I fell in love with her and was thinking of adopting her myself. I have such a soft spot for her.

I am sure once Treacle has had her course of medication she will be well.
