Hi,
I gave my guinea pig a bath earlier today and soon afterwards he started vibrating. He has stopped now, but I'm wondering what that meant. Could it mean he was enjoying the bath? Any help would be appreciated.🙂

Behaviours depend on the body language as a whole at the time but generally vibrating would be because they do not like something that was happening, or are scared.

Thank you for your replies.
Is there anything I can do when I give him a bath next time so that he doesn't get so scared?

Does he absolutely need to have a bath? If he doesn’t then just don’t bathe him. They should not be bathed as routine and never regularly - young healthy piggies are fully able to keep themselves clean without any help.
It’s not something that needs to be done or should be done unless there is a medical need to do so (usually because of needing a bath after ringworm treatment or due to old age and not being able to keep their back end clean themselves (even then a wipe can be fine rather than a full or bum bath)). I have only had to give one of my piggies one bum bath in the past five years. None of the others have had a bath and never will as routine.

If he absolutely needs a bath due to a medical issue, make it very quick bum bath and not a full body bath if that’s not necessary.

Sorry that it has taken me this long to read your post and reply!
I didn't know that young guinea pigs didn't need baths! Thanks for the help. 👍
