Vick's humidifier

I'm sick and want to use Vicks humidifier. I know humidifiers are safe, but is the Vick pad/smell okay with guineas around? Or should I just use water and not the Vick pad? Thanks!
 
@SimonandAlly I don’t know how far the Vicks smell with travel so I can't really advise on the humidifier. But I have used a bowl of hot water with Vicks or Olbas Oil before in the kitchen and the smell never got to the pig room.
