i noticed that this wasnt listed in the ratings bit so thought id add it.

does anyone else use it?

i feed it to my piggies and they love it! its the one in the dark orange packet, and u can buy it from wilkinsons, although i get mine at asda, and get it with my weekly shop lol. its not too pricey either, i think its £2ish at wilkinsons, but at asda i think its a little less than that.

my piggies love the stuff and wolf it down, and the bits that one doesnt like, the other piggie likes so it balences out for me lol

I use this too and the piggies seem to love it! I also get it from Asda, I think I pay £1.99 for a bag.

yeah thats it. i think its about £2.30 at wilkinsons.i think its really good for the price :D

Yes i use is too, I brought some today £2.09 for 2kg from wilkos Mine have it mixed with another mix

i tried my guineas on it and they eouldn't touch it. the only thing they really eat is p@h nuggets

I havent used Waggs GP food before, I did use it for Hamsters and my hamsters love it. I use Gerty GP food, plus I add Chinchilla pellets. I bought a huge sack, just for two animals, not chins, and wondered if they were ok for GP's, I called the company who make them and they say there's nothing more in them than what they add to their own GP food and its safe to feed it to them, apart from there's no Vit C. My GP's love them. I have to put a couple of piles out because one of the GP's will lie next to them, and just eat till he's full, lol.

I use Wagg in the red bag I get through a hugh sack every week thats cost me around £9 mine all love it and have had it for years

Its pellets. I use the optimum for the guineas here and they do really well on it, all healthy and with nice shiny coats :) Its the only pellet food which I have found most guineas will take too. You could always give Wagg a call and ask them to send you a sample.

Just thought I would mention that Gerty has lots of artificial colours in which can cause health problems, chinchilla pellets are also alfalfa based so too high in calcium to give to guineas on a daily basis ;)

Hi sgprescue, I asked about the product when I called the makers of the feed up. Unless I read the ingredients wrongly, I dont see any alfalfa in it at all. It has almost the same ingredients as GP food, apart from the the lack of vit c.

I have to admit, I use Supreme products for all my animals, rats, GP's, Hamsters, multi's, mice, and have done for about 6 or 7 years, and not really noticed much of a problem with it. I have just lost 3 rats this year, all reached almost 3 years, bar 1 month. My hamsters lived for almost 2 years, multi's lived between 18 months and 2 years. Both breeders I got my GP's from fed the same, which is why I use it. I have tried other products, I have a huge bag of the Burgess Supa Guinea Excel, and my GP's wont even look at it, and I've ended up giving it to the other animals. I've tried Oxbow, and they wont touch the stuff.

I'm willing to try something different for the GP's. Waggs, its not sold around here, Can somebody tell me where I can buy it online?

I live in the centre of London, and Asda's is nowhere to be seen round here the only supermarkets we get are the Sainsbury's Local and Tesco Metro, and I've never heard of a Jollies before.

Thanks for the URL's I'll try one of those to get some see how they get on with it. Which type is best?

Ok, I've just been and ordered some of the Waggs food from the pets2home site. Hopefully they will like it.

Thanks for the help. :)

i use this for my piggies too and they seem to like it, i sometime mix it with pets at home nuggets :)

I am at a loss with my piggies! They have got bored of every kind of food - we got Wagg recently and they liked it at first (as they do with every food we try) then they get bored of it and squeak at me for something different! I have 3 diff bags on the go at the mo, what do I do?!

Katie (stressed piggy parent)

I use wagg and get it from Jollies 8.99 for a 15 kg bag my piggies LOVE it ;) ;)

Yes Wagg my piggies loved it hardly any waste now my no of pigs has increased I now buy Guinea pig crunch in bulk which is the nearest to Wagg I could find!Asda cheaper than Wilko ( unless you get staff discount like me!lol) Wilko own pig food 89p for 1kg also went down well!

Wagg guinea food in my opinion is one of the best and a reasonable price, the optimum is very good too if you pigs select feed.
I have fed it to my pigs for years and never had any problems.

Gerty has been linked to bladder stones in some studies and the vitamin C is apparently sprayed on just the biscuits- so if you piggy leavess this then they wont get the vitamin c.

The wagg is quite well balanced although good hay and fresh veg should be fed too, but certainly the one i would recommend!

(the tescos purple bag lucinda mentioned is also made by wagg i heard so it probably identical!)

Mine loved the Wilko food but i had/have a sneaky feeling it was Gerty so am now trying to convert them to Wagg :)
