hi everyone!
I got 3 guinea pigs, now living in a wooden cage we built them, in my house.
I have fleece bedding but I'm really tired of taking care for these beddings - very smelly, need to change it very often and I have no time for it, its a big deal.
I have a garden with lovely grass my piggies love it and I'm dying taking them out there!
but, few problems maybe you guys could help me (pictures of your cages would help a lot too!)
I have water sprinklers - my question is: are the piggies would run away from it while they start working? (of course, I will make sure there are a closed area and open area on the grass but would the guineas go inside when the water starts working?)
another thing, I want to make two areas (maybe first floor and second floor) the one will be with access to the grass and the second will be the bedding area, more heated and warm place and but I don't know what to use as bedding there - I can't leave just wooden floor with nothing on it (the pee will ruin it in no time) so what to do? again, fleece? or what?
any extra tips for outdoor housing will be great!

Can't answer the water sprinkler bit as I don't have them but can answer the outside housing. I have 5 piggies living in a double decker wooden hutch in my garden. Here are a couple of pictures of it.

The bottom is lined with washable puppy pads and then loads of hay and the top is lined with disposable puppy pads and then loads of hay. The ramp has carpet on it to help my piggies grip it properly. It's better not to have have a hutch with a run underneath because you'll have to move the hutch every day or so to give your piggies new grass to eat. Also in the winter it gets all soggy and horrible. I know this as I used to have one and had to put a false floor on it for the winter. The wood started to rot and the back started to go mouldy where it was in constant contact with the ground.

I use old newspapers for base then lots of hay. The wee and poos drop down through the hay onto the newspaper. Just keep adding plenty of hay, I buy a bale from local farmer and keep in garden storage bin, clean out about every four days, I have two boars. Mine are outside during the day if it’s pleasant even in winter, otherwise they are in our conservatory (over winter) in indoor cage or playpen x

Here is an older photo of the outdoor pen I built before I changed the dirt out and put in the hutch.
