I've adopted 2 ladies from a friends children who were no longer interested in them. I've had them nearly a year now and they are coming up to 3 years old. Every so often we have the "war dance" routine, but it's not too severe and lasts for a couple of days. The "war dance" is the piggy warbling whilst moving it's back legs up and down (well that's what I've called it!). This week however it's particularly bad and Sandy, the normally quiet one, has not only taken to doing the war dance but chasing Bruisie around the cage and trying to get on her neck or from behind. Is this a mating thing? They are both ladies....shouldnt be doing that sort of thing should they? Or is it a dominance thing? Any advice would be most welcome......neither seem in distress about it and it all calms down pretty quickly but then it starts all over again grrrr

I would imagine this is when they are in season, it is perfectly natural so dont worry. It could also be dominance and them showing each other who is boss.

Yes, it's when they are in season. Cookie our girlie rumblestruts like crazy and will chase Treacle round the cage. Treacle is top pig and will scent in Cookie face if she annoys her too much...
