Hi,

Just saved my two from a wasp !

Opened the windows to let some air in in this cooler weather and found one hovering around their cage in an aggressive manner . Not sure if it had been swiped by a back leg ? It was looking to sting something.

Anyone have experience of wasp stings in piggies ? I imagine it would be serious and requiring some sort of immediate attention. My two are short hair but nasty on the ears .

Lots of them around my house and garden this week. I’ve got antihistamine cream for humans but in an emergency might have to try it ? No time for vets.

We can only ever advise seeking vet care (urgently if necessary) should a sting, with its potential for resulting reaction which can be severe in some cases, occur.
We cannot advocate the use of any home or self treatments instead of vet care.

Thanks. Was just wondering how serious a wasp sting would be ? Small animals nasty enough for humans .

Not suggesting I would try non veterinary treatment.

Anyone with this nasty experience ?

Hi

Astonishingly, virtually none of us has ever had a sting problem. I can remember one piggy being found with a sting (source unknown) and we recommended to contact their vet but that is about it. Wasps and bees normally ignore piggies and vice versa.
