Arggghhhhhhh why do these always go missing?

While putting the girls in the run last night as I transfered the water bottle over the clip went awol... I looked everywhere and couldn't find it. I trippled checked the run at different times of the evening but low and behold I found it this morning in there with signs of piggie nibbles, this has all the hallmarks of Sassy but I wouldn't rule out Cookie been involved in this cover up campaign... Someone must have run off with it last night in a spilt second, I reckon they then hid it in Vimto's hair until it was safe to bring it out when I'd gone to bed rolleyes

Its the opposite for me, i lose the bottles :)) I have a stash of different sized bottle clips.

Bottle springs off ebay, connect them to your cage and even then the bottle holder stealing fairies have difficulty hiding these :-P I lose mine all the time so invested in these lifesavers. :D

Bottle holder stealing fairies :))

Yep, we have the same problem! With us it's always when we're going away with the piggies for a few days. We pack up all their stuff, double and triple - checking that the bottle clips are packed too. By the time we reach our destination they've disappeared! I now have this imagine of hundreds of bottle clips littering the side of the M4...!

Its the only answer as to why I have an entire box of bottles and not a single wire anywhere! The springs attach like keyrings do so they're a pain to get on, but on the plus side they'll never come off if you dont want them to, or you can add clips to them so you can take them off and on, but tbh I just have them on hutches, cages and on the run full time :D

Funny thread! Oh it's the hiss attachment that the gargoyles hide along with the fairys that live in the veggie patch!

Talking of bottles do you buy a new one yearly?

hahah!

Personally no I dont as indoor bottles dont go funny and are easy to clean with milton and a cotton bud. Outdoor ones I havent had algae or anything yet but any discolouratin of the plastic and they'd be binned.

Oh the cheeky wotsits. I wouldn't have put it past some of mine to to do the same - most likely Fuzzy and Barney or the skinnies. I have the bottle springs fof ebay too, they're great. For us it's always the hamster water clips we lose.

We clean our bottle with rice. I can't remember who posted that tip on here. But it is ace.

Bit of rice in the bottle, give it a shake and leave it for a while, just make sure you get all the rice out.

It depends on your view of the big green chain (I'm sure you can get them elsewhere) but these are fab I have a few I got with second hand cages (chuck the bottle keep the holder was what I did) http://www.petsathome.com/shop/pick-and-mix-water-bottle-109891 the holder clips onto the cage and you never need to take it off ... thats a bingo! Also big bottle wires can be used with small bottles too <3 I also buy these from a local independant store taht dont sell pets http://www.amazon.co.uk/Flat-Water-Bottle-Hamster-Gerbils/dp/B004LOGHZ8 no idea why the reviews are bad out of 10 only one didnt work.

I'm another bottle spring loser... thanks for the tip about ebay!

But it's mainly me and not the piggies, who specialise on vandalising the clips that hold the C&C door grids closed instead. I had to switch to big ones for Bryn the Pirate and escape artist. mallethead
