Water bottle

My guinea pigs don’t drink a lot of water. Every day there is enough water for them to drink for the next day. do I still have to empty it out and refill it or can I just leave it do they need freshwater or is it fine?

It is the same as a glass of water next to your bed. It tastes better fresh. It isn’t exactly stagnant, but it tastes off.

I replace it everyday - filtered water should only be used for 24 hrs apparently ( says Brita)
