Water not being drank

How much water should two piggies be drinking? I’ve been putting 200ml in the bottle each day and literally a few goes and that’s probably just it dripping? Should I put a bowl down too?

They do have romaine lettuce and cucumber so will be getting some water from that I suppose

The amount piggies drink varies widely.
The need to drink comes first so they will not dehydrate themselves but the more watery veg they get, the less they will drink from the bottle.
As long as you are seeing wet patches in the cage, they are gaining weight well and are otherwise healthy, then you don’t need to be worried.

Mine have never drunk a bottle full. One of them will drink when they get pellets but I’ve only seen the other one at the bottle a handful of times in four years.

You have no need to be worried if they are gaining weight appropriately and urinating. When I got my pigs as tiny babies, they hardly ate, drank, peed, or pooped while they got used to their new surroundings. They picked at stuff. This got better after a week or 2. There were no issues.

You have nothing to be worried about as long as they are otherwise healthy.

Hi, my piggies dont really drink that much water...we used to get concerned and if its overly hot we give maybe an extra cucumber or dip their veg in some water so they get a little extra when they're eating, but just leaving it readily available for them is good enough...the same as people they know when they need water...the only time you might be required to take extra steps to ensure they're not dehydrating is if they fall unwell...but a vet would advise you on how to go about this at the time.

It depends I had two piggies initially that never drank anything. Then I got two more from the pet shop who had been used to water bottles and they started to copy the others. They can get water from food like cucumber to!
