My Lionel (4.5 years old) has been having eyes sliiightly glossier than usual for a week or so. He has had no other symptoms, so I’ve just been keeping an eye on it. Today, his right eye was damp all around it. I’m going to call the vet regardless, but he has no other symptoms. Happy, eating, playing, no nose discharge or sneezing/noisy breathing. Like I said, I’m going to call the vet, but any pointers? His environment is free of dust (fleece bedding) and well ventilated, could it be something else? Both of his brothers do not have this issue. Just a possible URI?

Yes I’d call the vets just to be on the safe side. I think sometimes a watery eye can be a sign of a URI. So it’s best to check it early.

Hi

We cannot tell you just from your report what is going on. If in doubt, please see a vet.

Which country are you in? It may play into our further recommendations as to what to potentially look out for.

Honestly could be anything but I agree it's probably best to talk to the vets. Have you recently changed hay or has it been dustier than usual?

Hi, that’s what I had figured. I’m in the US (New York) :)
