Mum was using the chopping board tonight and angel was doing her bonkers :))
She was wheeking so loudly we could hear her downstairs :))
Never mind the fact they had all had some veggies 30 minutes before.
My piggies really love their food :))

:)) that is so sweet!

I am learning so much about guinea pigs from this forum, just by the little things they do lol!

I think piggies just automatically assume that if veggies are being chopped, they must be for them! They know we cant resist their wheeks and that if they make enough noise their faithful piggy slave will appear with a tasty treat for them! Clever, clever piggies..

Tegan is at the stage when we can't MOVE without setting her off weeking - and she is a 10 on volume!

I can't rustle anything!
getting bags of frozen stuff out the freezer = wheek
moving a carrier bag = wheeek
crisp packets = wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek

This is such a funny thread, but it's not just guinea pigs. We used to have a cat who liked her milk tepid rather than cold, so we'd pop it in the microwave for a few seconds. After a while, every time we used the microwave, she'd appear like magic, thinking it was her milk, no matter if she'd just had some 10 minutes before!

i have 27 piggies inmy rescue and when i rustle a plastic bag i get wwwweeeeeeeeeekkkkkkk...wwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkk...wwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwweeeeeeeeeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkk from 27 guineas lol,,,

I also love the wheek wheek it makes me feel all warm inside.

First time my foster pigs did it I thought I had died and gone to heaven :)

I feed the cats, they wheek at me.
I sort the munchies they wheek at me.
I come upstairs they wheek at me.
I move a carrier bag they wheek at me.
I have a packet of crisp's they make me feel guilty.
I move in the night and it sounds like they shout at me :(|)

I honestly just cant do anything with out them wheeking at me :(|)

You have left out: opening a window or the kitchen door, the fridge door, changing the kitchen bin, watering my living room plants, anything even remotely rustling, cooking, fishing bus tickets out of your coat pockets... malletheadmalletheadmallethead

Mine are now ridiculas and think anything and everything is food. They go mad for the usual fridge opening, chopping board and rustling bags.

BUT now they have started on doing it for the running tap in the kitchen, the back door to the house, packets of crisps, newspapers? and also every now and then they go mad as we leave the kitchen?

Complete nutters is all I can say! :)) :)

My girls go mad whenever we use our chopping board as well... and they are very, very loud! Their cage is open and so there's also always a delegation coming through to the kitchen to check up on me!

And for some reason they also scream when I open the bin! rolleyes

yes we have the same issue,no chopping board,no bag movement,no opening the fridge otherwise there are all 13 of them screaming the house downrolleyes
oh and the newest one thanks to OH being obsessive about sharpening the knives before each use is the sound of it being sharpened or any metal on metal noiserolleyes

Not only do they have us wrapped around there little piggy toes...But they darn well know it, too! :(|)

Mine go nuts if I rustle anything. My room is above the living room, which is right next to the kitchen...Yet they can hear me rustling a bag or opening the fridge from that distance.

:{ Why do they have to be so cute?! It makes it harder to say "no"! :{

So so true :(|)

i can't wait for my boys to start wheeking. they aren't making much noise just the odd sound. I've only had them since friday evening so i know it will take them time to settle. bless them ! :))
