We Found A Lump

Hey guys

Didn't want to be posting in this part of the forum so soon!

Our new 'minipig' - we have named him Burt - has a lump on his upper right leg - I'd say it feels pretty round and I can't see any wound/bite marks on it - we only noticed it as he's got wet fur from cleaning it. I can't feel any other lumps, and this one feels about the size of a marble. He's just over 4 months old.

He's eating and drinking and not pulling away when we touch it - we just called Seers Croft vets (thanks @Pebble ) and they say he sounds fine until Monday but it's a good 90-min drive from us, does anyone have idea what this *could* be and any reputable piggie vet in the Egham/West London area?

I'm glad we found it now before it seems to be bothering him too much, and I'm probably a bit paranoid after Jesse got ill and diet, but I am going to be monitoring this guy all night now!
 
It could be a fatty lump or sebaceous cyst. Guinea pigs are prone to them. Both are harmless so please try not to worry.
 
Cheers guys for the reassurance :) it's hard and have tried squeezing gently (to see how hard it is) and it didn't seem to bother him. He seems perfectly himself - have googled cysts and they all seem to have a scab on them, there isn't on this though :)
 
Oh and actually while I'm here, he does have some kind of sleep/crust on his eyes - does this mean anything or also nothing to worry about?
 
I have seen cysts without a scab on.

I would not worry too much, it can be a sign of URI but can also be dried cleaning fluid. Just keep an eye out for any other symptoms like laboured breathing, sneezing etc.
 
Please do not squeeze any lumps :( It sounds more like an abscess from a bite wound to me, 2 of mine have had them. If it is then surgery is the best option to remove the entire capsule rather than draining but a vet visit is needed to diagnose & discuss the options :)
