New Born Pup
Last Thursday our guinea pig Zuzu left us. I could write so much about her and her sister Mimi, but I will keep it short for now.
Mimi had cancer and passed in January. I was worried about Zuzu being alone but she carried on ok. We had both of them for 6 years. Just in the last month Zuzu's health declined. She was eating less and not as lively as she usually was. My husband and I knew she was close, so we made extra effort to keep her comfortable, freshening her bedding more often, giving her more snacks.
Then last Wednesday she wasn't eating as much. She had leftover lettuce and chopped bell pepper, and she always finished that. On Thursday after we got home from work I gave her extra lettuce and peppers, but she didn't touch it. She came out of her little house in her pen when I was putting her snackies out, just watching me, which she never did, and she stayed in the open area. My husband and I ate, and when I passed the pen, Zuzu was gone.
I think she came out to see us, and to tell us goodbye.
We love you and miss you, Zuzubellie.

I just found this forum today. I'm glad I did. Sometime if it's not so painful I'll tell Mimi's story too. But they're both together again now. And we'll have them together with us when we get Zuzu's urn back from the vet.
We love you, baby girls.
