Well the weeds are defeating us at the allotment so planning on going after chemical warfare to clear a large area to then grow grass on to make a nice lawn for the piggies to play on! and nibble of course.

The product claims to be pet friendly but i am assuming that is in contact rather than eating.... Once the weeds are dead we will then remove then turn over the ground rake it level and then reseed with lawn seed.

Has anyone done this in the past and does anyone have any words of advice?

Many thanks, Eleanor

I have used weed and feed on my lawn in the past. I think if you leave it a good few weeks the rain will wash any residue away or alternatively you can give it a few waterings your self over a few weeks and it will be ok. some people also say give it 2/3 mows and then it'll be fine!

supposedly it reacts with the soil and neutralising the weedkiller component - just the weeds at the allotment are a real barrier to visiting unfortunately you just get there and it is a sea of weeds so decided needed to take major action!

Chemical warfare began this evening! Will let you know who wins in 7 days! I also rescued two huge frogs and moved them well away from the area but hoping they will come back to eat the slugs :)
