Jamjarpigs
Junior Guinea Pig
Hi,
We lost my neutered boar about a month ago which left my 2.5 year old sow Mildred on her own. Within 2 weeks we rescued two one year old sows to live with her- they get on fairly well but Mildred is definitely dominant. The two new girls stick together but she does go and sit in the house with them sometimes. She was never cuddly with our boar either.
When weighing today we noticed she had dropped from 922g on the 8th to 775g today (17th). Ive checked her over and can't see anything wrong and from watching she had been eating as normal. The other two definately don't hog the food- if anything i was more worried about them losing weight but theirs has only fluctuated within 30g.
With the holidays coming up I'm a bit worried about her and just want some advise on if this is something normalish after a period of change or worth a vet visit. Obviously I am going to start weighing every day- I dont remember what time of day i weighed on the 8th unfortunately!
