So I recently began fostering guinea pigs. I thought I would be able to do it. I really wanted to. However, I am not able to part with them. I have decided to remain a volunteer instead. I have adopted my last set of fosters. I now have 10 guinea pigs. Cloud is the one with black over her eyes. Luna is the other one. Everyone knew I was going to be a foster fail 😔 .

Take heart - you are certainly not the only one.
Many years ago in the UK I decided to start fostering for a breed specific dog rescue.
My first three fosters never left.
I did manage to re home one dog, but after that I was banned (by DH) from fostering anymore.
Apparently 4 large breed dogs in a 2 bedroom semi detached house was enough :))

Please don’t feel sad. Pat yourself on the back for the piggies you’ve given a loving home in the interim. Your heart was in the right place and the volunteering is also a good way to help. I think most of us would understand why you can’t part with them. For such small things they really do take up a lot of space in our 💕

Who could give them away again they are gorgeous! I couldn't foster for this very reason.
I'm the same... I know as soon as they made it through the front door at mine, they wouldn't be going back out again.
I am in awe of anyone who can do it successfully.

These two really are adorable though  xx

I am really at capacity, but I know if I tried to foster I would fail too! My contractor is taking forever. He applied for the permit two weeks ago and he said it would only take a few days to get it.
Ugh. How frustrating! Hopefully he gets started soon.

I know this feeling, my first two school boars I used to have during the summer school holidays( wife's a teacher) I couldn't give them back at the end, so I didn't. I was almost in tears thinking of giving them back to such crap care. Put it this way, none of the staff realised they were not back until a few months later, and by that time, the teacher who got them was leaving anyway. Thank god

Don’t feel bad! I would be exactly the same, I just wouldn’t be able to give them up x
You have done a great job, just carry on volunteering x

Well you gave it a try and have successfully rehomed some foster piggies! We would love to try fostering too but I suspect that we would keep them all, piggy daddy especially is a softy where little boars are concerned, they would all end up hidden in his jumper if anyone wanted to take them away!

What a wonderful outcome for them to have found such a good home :) I could never foster..I can barely walk away from a pig anywhere that I've looked in the eyes too long, let alone had come to live with me!
What lucky piggies :)
Thank you 😊. Yeah, I don't know what I was thinking 🤷. I should have known.

Where's the failure? You have some more lovely piggies! I would love another 2 girlies I have the room for them in the hutch and in my heart but unfortunately not the finances or the backing of OH. I would bond one with Dennis and Betsy and the other with Christian and Meg.

Congratulations, welcome to the failed fosterers. Remember you have now gave some piggies a wonderful perfect forever home! They are lush
