Got all the supplies for bigger cages and so we could put Molly in with one of the other 2 groups of girls.

We tried her first with Pola & Nell, which are the mellower of the two existing groups....Molly attacked both Pola & Nell in a matter of minutes and Pola started attacking back - no rumbling, just teeth chattering and attacking. We separated them quickly. Then we tried her with Lila and Poppy and same story.

So now Molly is a lone piggy, but she's never been depressed or even acted like she wants/needs anyone. I'm not in any position to get her a friend, especially since it doesn't seem like it would not work out....

Well anyway, Molly is back in her 2X3 C&C and we made a 3X6 and put in a divider to make two 3X3s for Pola, Nell, Poppy, and Lila. Here's what it now looks like:

Aww. sorry it didn't work out.:( it seems molly doesn't even want a buddy, so i really wouldn't worry about it. you didn't fail, it just didn't work out the way you wanted it to. i bet molly is much happier without a buddy anyways.

awwwwww Marie sorry to hear love :(
it's not failure tho, you can't pick their friends it's up to them.............
Love the digs and their fleece and houses x)x)x)

Sorry that it didnt work out, but you didnt fail, dont blame yourself - you gave her an opportunity to make new friends and thats what counts!

you did your best and tried it from all angles . but if she likes he own company so be it . its like us humans some people need people round them all the time and some like there own company

Nah you didn't fail Marie it happens! Just not compatable! :)

Maybe piggy enjoys being alone. Some do! Like Ron at the mo. Get him over the teenage stage he may mellow and can have a friend.

I guess pigs are like us, some love company, others like to be on their own! I'm like that! I can get on better when I have peace! Which is hardly never! :(|)

You gave it your best shot ... shame it didn't work out, but sometimes this happens.

Holly, an agouti and white sow, who I adopted from a rescue was like that. She hated boars and sows so she lived on her own. She was fine and lived until approximately 6 years old.

Very nice accommodation, by the way! :)

I don't see you've failed. Molly knows what she wants & with the language barrier it became confusing but now you've realised she'll be happy. :(|)
I had exactly the same with my Maddie, she lived quite happily by herself & not always did she have piggies near by to interact with & when she did she ignored them for the most part :)

Love your set-up too :)

Thanks everyone, I don't feel quite as bad now. It was very frustrating last night but in the end Pola & Nell and Poppy & Lila got their larger cages.

Forgot to mention that Poppy (the little black one peeking her head out in the first pic) got the worst of it...Molly pulled a chunk of her hair out before we could get them and when I picked her up later she squealed so I guess I'll be checking her for injury later. Figured I'd best leave them all alone last night after the circus of stress that was put on us all last night.

Molly seems happy as a clam now......

I think that cage as a whole is bigger than my bed! :{ :p
