My daughter rang me yesterday.....in tears.....her employer has SACKED all their seasonal staff....fantastic.
Thought we were supposed to be helping each other?
And I don't care about outing her employer either...its not like they are a small firm that just couldn't afford to keep workers on either.....they are greedy that's what they are,no business rates to pay now either.
None other than MERLIN ENTERTAINMENT...or whoever owns it now as it was bought out a few months ago.
She worked at Blackpool tower.
If you ask me its disgusting the way they have treated their seasonal staff...sacking them and keeping the permanent ones on
It's not like they will be short of money due to the fact that they own the biggest theme park in Britain...Alton towers...
As well as the sea life centres,madam tussauds, chessington world of adventure, Warwick castle....and many more.
I am disgusted frankly.
Sorry had to rant.
 
Aw, so sorry to hear this, hope she finds another position soon x Some of the bigger firms should be trying harder to keep their staff
 
I'm in a similar situation only I'm an agency worker in schools and nursery's. For months I have been the best worker I could be building relationships with staff and children working 5 days a week only to be completely dropped no sick pay, no benefits, no support. It's a horrific reminder of how unimportant you really are when employers want everything from you when they need you and then expect you to just stop existing when they don't.

Exactly,couldn't have put it better myself...don't they realise that with no employees they wouldn't have a business?
And the best part was the slap in the face....they said they hoped that she would RE APPLY for her job next season! The cheek 😳🤯
 
Oh god, I am so sorry to hear this.

to tide her over most supermarkets are taking on loads of extra staff, then hopefully when this is over she can find something permanent. Companies are doing unscrupulous things at moment

Yeah she went to Asda and b&Ms today so hopefully🤞
As long as they are not forced to close too😫
