Ive just come home from a night at my mothers! and as I was walking in my piggies were wheeking.... (now ive realised for no reason at all)...

But before I realised this, I noticed that my other half had taken the keys for the hutches with him to his friends...

Sooooooo, Ive just had to unscrew every screw on every huch (about 6 on every one and theres three hutches) to check that my piggies were okay... not to mention that he had screwed them on with an electric screwdriver and I had to unscrew them with a normal screwdriver then put them back on with a normal screwdriver!

And theres nothing wrong with them!!! I called my mum to tell her at 11.45 because I was sooooo very proud of myself and she said that where she grew up mothers were scared of their children getting into gang crime not guinea pig obsession and breaking into hutches...

I dont even know why I did it! Do you ever get a strange feeling that you have to check that your piggies are okay?

Oooh yes. I often get up through the night and have a peek in their room to make sure they are ok. :{

Yes! My pigs live outdoors but right underneath our bedroom window. I leave it open all night *just in case* (I'm not sure what of mind! :)) )

Oh, yes! Sometimes I'm at the bus stop, waiting to go to work and I suddenly can't remember if I gave them fresh nuggets or if I put the water bottle back on the cage after refilling it! And I have to dash back inside and check on them!
They're our babies! So naturally we all worry about them and as you have proven, we will do anything to make sure that they are okay!

yes I peek in on their bedroom eveytime i go upstairs to check on them. Sometimes flora will do her incredibly loud wheek for no reason and i go rushing upstairs to check to find shes fine!

You're not alone, my husband gets home early afternoons and he always has to ring to tell me the dogs and piggies are ok.

yes my piggies sleep in my room and if doogal squeels i will check on her

Thanks, you made me laugh with your "criminal" tendencies!

I admit to sneaking downstairs on sleepless nights...

My piggies are outside and I sleep with my window open too and can hear them squeaking when they're hungry in the morning. :) And I can look out to make sure the rabbit shed is closed.

Usually when I come inside I have to look out again to make sure I shut the shed. :))

I used to have to leave my window open a jar but since i put mesh on my shed window the sound travels nicely, especially @ 10pm when george has finished his supper and he clangs his bowls together lol

When i lock up @ bedtime I have different lengths of wood that i i prop up against my shed door so 1. i know nothings changed , 2. if i hear sumthing i know to look for the wood and 3. If i see theyve moved i can go out running with a mean weapon pow-powpow-powpow-pow !

I also have a metal chair propped against the back gate that makes a horrible clangy/metally noise when moved

TOUCH MY PIGGIES AND YOU WILL DIE ! pow-pow

:))`I'm sane honestly lol

Hehehee! This made me giggle, glad your piggies are okay and weldone for breaking into the hutch i wouldnt have a clue if i had to use a screw driver teehee! :))

Well done. This is just the beginning of a brilliant new hobby using your new DIY skills to make GP things!:)

Yes. I went downstairs a few days ago in the middle of the night and found my boar playing football (honest I took a photo).:))

I am always worrying about my piggies I woke in the night the other night and it was a bit chilly so I went and asked if they would like the central heating on and I feel so guilty if I don't say goodbye to them before I leave the house.

Congratulations by the way, well done you on your determination
