Hi guys,
When I got my first 2 guinea pigs I purchased a ferplast 100 as the room they were going in had cats, now 2 months later they are in the new room in a 2x5 c and c. And the 3 new girls are in a 2x7 c and c.

Now I have an old cage, any ideas what to do with it? The resell value is pretty low. I am looking at getting a new pet in the future, but haven't decided on what yet, so out of interest does anyone use these cages for a different animal, without covering with mesh (as this looks really messy)?

Please note I'm not getting another animal just to fill the cage.
Thanks

I keep my old cage as a hospital cage should it ever be needed.
Or you could use it to grow grass for the piggies in

I think any animal smaller than a guinea pig would be able to get through the bars so unless you could cover the whole top with mesh (I've done this myself in the past and used a cage for Fancy Rats but it's a right royal pain in the bum!) I'm not sure it would work. If you were willing to do that then a 100 cage would make a mansion for a hamster!

Thanks for your replies guys, as I have a play pen and loads of extra grids I don't really need a spare cage, but otherwise I would have used it for that.
I did think about using it as a hamster cage, but like you said it a pain in the bum to mesh it and I just think they look even worse then, but maybe that's an option, but my hamster already has a giant diy cage, I'll have to keep thinking!
Thanks guys

I use mine 100cm cage as a hospital cage. Most of the time though it just sits lonely and unloved in my garage ........:(
