I HATE it when a food brand says ¨food and treat all in one!¨ i checked the ingredients and found seeds, sugar, salt, nuts, and much more!

@Sweet Potato - if you’re interested, Haybox pellets are soy and grain free. They are cold pressed and made purely from grasses. They aren’t vit c fortified though so giving good vit c veg is important. My boys love them!
(that obviously doesn’t help you though @Shelley anne given its a British company. I hope you can find something suitable for you)

I hate it when it says grain free but is chocker full of soy.

i just saw this and checked and it’s full of soya and also locust beans. mine love this food and I switched from standard Science Selective as I thought it was better for them. I am not too sure now. They don’t get much anyway but it’s all very complex isn’t it! I would just forego pellets altogether but I think they may fire me as their slave if I do that!

is soya bad for piggies or is it just one of these foods which has got no value and is just there for bulk?

there's a few I've been looking at but I don't feed them much each day and they really like the one their on even if it's not the best for them so if nothing else they have to get through a massive bag of it before I consider changing it.

other things I hate about some brands of guinea pig foods are
1. for rabbit's and guinea pigs and any other animal you can think of because why not?
2. brightly coloured pieces for no reason at all
3. there nearly all alfalfa hay based

I hate the fact that so called guinea pig "treats" have seeds in them and other nasties that are really unhealthy for piggies. The best treat you can give a piggy is hay, hay and more hay! Mine also love the forage from Products – Piggie Parcels which now that the nights are starting the draw in they have a bowl of every day with a sprinkle of Pro-C on the top to start building up their winter reserves as they are in an unheated garage. They do have plenty of stuff to keep them warm I hasten to add.

sorry to disrupt the thread, but when you say a sprinkle, do you literally mean a small pinch or do you measure out a certain amount?
