At the pet shop I was told to only give guinea pigs high in sugar fruit and veg once a week. But I'm not sure what is high in sugar (And edible to guinea pigs) and whats not. Anyone else know? Thanks xx

various/most fruit! such as apples, strawberries, watermelon, and, something super high in sugar that is a very very very special occasion treat, bananas! as well as things like pea flakes or carrots, which is the veg that comes to mind that is high in sugar. pet shops can be misleading, as they’ll try to sell you things that really aren’t healthy for your pigs just to make a profit. don’t feed your piggy anything with seeds, or those bags of food with brightly colored pieces or dried fruit, and especially not those yogurt drop things! oxbow brand is pretty recomendable, they have some treats that are essentially just compressed timothy hay that my piggy loves.

Also, is cucumber a treat?

Cucumber can be given daily as part of their veg. All fruits, carrots and tomatoes should be given no more than once a week. Less often is also okay. Parsley (high in calcium) can be given as a treat, as well as other herbs.

As a treat, I will occasionally give my piggies a small slice of carrot (the top), a grape, blueberry, one pea flake or a small piece of apple. But it's not often as I tend to forget. I'll also sometimes buy some parsley and give them a sprig every now and then.

Mine love a dandelion or sow thistle leaf once or twice a week as a treat, they are both high in calcium so I don't feed them very often.

Mine love dandelion leaves as a treat, grass, pepper, celery, coriander the list goes on. They love their pellets too.

Just to clarify, pet shops often give out inaccurate information. Most employees are only trained in sales much like any other shop employee. Sticking to getting information from experienced owners/vets is your best for accurate info. :)
