Hey I’m in a bit of trouble with my guinea pig, Alvin. Alvin’s cagemate died recently and seems very sad. What do I do? Since he seems more aggressive after his cage mate died. And when I take him out onto his petting pillow he doesn’t move. Is he depressed? Should I get him a friend?

Hi and welcome

I am very sorry for your loss. Alvin is grieving and rather unhappy on his own. Piggies often reject human interaction during this time, so please do not take it personally.
You may find the information and links to good rescues that offer dating at the rescue helpful: Looking After A Bereaved Guinea Pig

So very sorry for your loss, please do have a read above of the link Wiebke has gave, there is lots of advice in there. Also please feel free to leave a memorial post to your piggy in our rainbow bridge section

I'm sorry for your loss. Guinea pigs are social animals and do grieve the loss of a companion. They may be agitated/fearful or depressed. If you are interested in adopting a new friend for Alvin, I'm sure he would certainly appreciate it! ((HUGS)) and again, so sorry. :(
