What do you do with guinea pigs when you're on holiday?

I don't have guinea pigs yet but I'm interested in adopting 3 girls. I'm just asking since I want to be ready. I know there are pet hotels but I'm not sure if I have to take my own cage or they have a cage there. And if they have a cage there, how do you transport the piggies? is it like in a cardboard box or is it more like a smaller guinea pig cage?

You can either use a boarder or have a trusted person come in twice a day and take care of them.
Mostly the boarders provide the cage so you’d need to shop around to find one who has the cages big enough for a herd of three.

To transport piggies you also need a proper, sturdy cat carrier. Never transport in a cardboard boxes as they will chew them, urinate in them and then they become unsafe. They also offer no protection in the event of a car accident.

We use a pet sitter who comes in once a day to feed the piggies with the bonus of daily house security checks, taking the bins out etc! I find they're more relaxed staying at home while we're away. Hope you find a suitable option near you.

We use a piggy boarding place, or the guinea pigs have come on holiday with us.
( & take up too much room on the car!)
Boarding places usually have their own cages/ set ups.
