I wanna bond with my baby but I feel like alls he wants is his veggies and that's it from me .. I'm a nanny so times at work are hard I come home let him out of his cage and give him hay and a paper towel roll and he chews on it but what else can I give him to play with ? I stuff it with treats and things but he chews on it eats some hay and falls asleep .. I do pick him up hug kiss and brush him but is there anything else I can do ? I just want a happy piggie am I doing something wrong ? He also eats my hair when I pick him up I don't know why

Does he have a companion? Piggies usually love having a piggy friend so maybe that could be an option?

Hi and welcome

Is your boy an only piggy? He may miss the constant stimulation from another guinea pig companion. Toys cannot compensate. Even another single guinea pig in an adjoining cage will do if you do not have the option to bond.
Companionship

Here are some guides on how you can learn to understand social guinea pig behaviours and use them to make friends with your boy in ways that he instinctively understands:
Illustrated Bonding / Dominance Behaviours And Dynamics
How To Understand Guinea Pig Instincts And Speak Piggy Body Language
How To Pick Up And Weigh Your Guinea Pig

Here are some tried and tested enrichment ideas, as well as definite no-nos:

We have got lots more helpful information in our new owners' guide collection as well as at the top of our various Care sections. You are welcome to ask any questions you may have.
