What happens with small hutches

Hi all. I am just wondering what can happen to pigs and rabbits that are kept in hutches that are too small. The reason I ask is because my friends girlfriend has just brought 2 guinea pigs and by looking at the photo, the hutch doesn't look big enough for 2 ?/

I think its just depressing for them, also it can cause them to fight! I find smaller the cage the more it needs cleaning out. Its just how we would react, can you imagine living in a bathroom with your OH? LMAO
EDIT: But not being able to flush the chain?

Well I think it could lead to fighting pow-pow ,bad air circulation @) ,need cleaning more often >>> and just not nice!

poor piggies

as said it can cause them to fight, though my girls had a 4ft by 18 inches and the late choloe and then jessie picked on zoe, humping, rump wobbling etc it got to the stage where zoe is scared of other piggies.
i also agree it can cause the piggies to be sad and bored! do they go out into a run during the day or have play time or cuddle time?
i am also guessing it would affect their legs and muscle tone if they haven't enough room to move in. perhaps suggest she get another cage and join the two together. otherwise she could get reported to the rspca as it is cruel not to have a big enough cage for them. good luck with your friend, perhaps she will let you have the piggies. hugs xx>>>xx>>>xx>>> i was wondering how the vomit icon was going to used. good one gaile.

I don't think she would let me have the pigs and I don't have the room even if she did She says it is about 3.5 foot in length and 2 foot width

cage size

have learnt on here for 2 piggies the cage should be 4ft by 2 ft but the bigger the better. so perhaps ask her to get a cool drinks crate and put hole in one end and hole in cage too and join the crate to the cage with long screws and this will make the cage longer. just a thought. good luck and hugs for the piggies x>>x>>x>>
