NocturnalRapport

I have just been in hysterics at my boar.

He's been sleeping in an upside down shoe box for the past few nights. No idea why.

Anyway tonight I thought it might be nice to line it with a soft towel, thought it might make him more comfortable ... anyway upon sniffing it he went completely beserk! spun him up in the air, popcorned so much he knocked the water bottle off the cage, he rubbed himself up the towel and then popcorned so crazily that he ended up on his back! He just went nuts and it went on for a good five minutes or so. I've never seen anything like it!

Such simple things can make them so happy! He's now taking a break for some food but everytime he goes back to the towel he has another popcorning fit.

What has sent your pigs crazy in the past?

When I clean the run out in the morning and put the clean vet bed down the girls come out of the bedroom and popcorn about as if to say 'this feels nice under our feet' either that or it's because they know the veggies come straight after the cleaning in the morning :)

george has a simular liking for a rabbit bed I bought him. It is a huge fur fabric thing 4 time the size of him. When I had him on his own and put him in the play pen he would do laps jumping onto it then wriggling on his back on it. It was soo funny to watch it was usually around 10/11 at night also for some reason it did make me chuckle!

Mine go mad when they hear the veggie bags rustling because they know what's coming, I suppose.

I've also seen my boars popcorning like crazy when they've caught a whiff of one of the sows!

My new rescue Olwen (age 2!) has just had the first proper run of her whole life this morning, and she was running and jumping like mad at the same time! She used to be kept in a cramped hutch together with an elderly rabbit and never let out.

I've got a pic of her with all her four legs off the ground which makes me smile every time I look at it (it's my latest screensaver), but I can't seem to get the hang of importing pics on here. (Unprintable comment.)

Westlife in concert DVD. Oops no sorry, that would be me. he he xx

Ha ha - sounds like me! x)

One of my boys - Wicket has a big popcorning fit every time he goes in his snuggle. He throws himself round in it & often ends up on his back :))

Ha Ha Ha know what you mean :red

I had all 16 piggies in the garden yesterday and the 4 new ones wouldn't come out at first until they all started chattering - I've got four boys that never shut up! - once the noise began, the 4 new ones gradually came out of their boxes and a little while later they started to have running and popcorning fits and 2 of the boys were jumping on and off their igloo houses and tearing around.
I just love those moments

gilbert goes nuts once he hears those bags rustling. sometimes i open the cage and walk away so he knows I'm boutt to get him veggies and keep talking to him and telling him to hold on. HE GOES CRAZY POPCORNING AND MAKING HIS BEDING FLY EVERYWHERE! HE ALSO( whoops caps lock ) gets crazy when i call his name.

my piggys -popcorn to the hoover. one of my boys, montgomery looks as though he is receiving electric shocks. he leaps so high he almost hits the top of the cage. They all love it.

All three of my boars popcorn as soon as they are put back into their cages after they've all been cleaned and clean fleece has been put down.

I'm convinced my piggies have OCD!

My baby, Gizmo, is very vocal too, he squeaks like a mad thing while he popcorns, or whenever the food bag is rustled!

My boys go crazy when they hear their food bags being rustled. Also for the sound of water coming their way (when we pour it into their bottle or hear the top being replaced). They especially go insane when they hear me coming up the stairs (live in a two story house) and begin to jump, wheek and do laps! So cute and comforting when I get back from a hard day at my college.

As its so cold tonight I have put the Snuggle-oo in the hutch for Disney and Paris, well you've never seen nothing like it! they started popcorning whilst in the snuggle-oo and it was jumping all over the hutch :(|) they made me laugh so much, they came out and were popcorning everywhere ..... they must love the snuggle-oo x)x)x)

My 3 big boys don't popcorn & never have. :( They do run around causing chaos however, but that's another story....

I have 2 babies, Billy & Bobby. They alternate between a cage upstairs (away from small hands when I am working - I'm a childminder) & downstairs when it is safe so they can meet the big pigs! Billy occasionally has a quick popcorn & runs round & round his house, but that's it. Bobby has never popcorned.

Today I made them a run with my upturned fireguard! They were quiet & suddnely they let loose! Billy was popcorning round & round & nearly went onto his back several times!! :(|):(|):(|) Then Bobby joined in! He was popcorning round the 'run' and into Billy! :)):)):)) I haven't laughed like that for ages! They must have been going strong for 15 minutes in total! I will be letting them out again tomorrow & when I need cheering up!

Lately it seems to be my voice, this is the 2nd night i've gone into check on Haggis & Tait, saying "hello babieeeees" & they've gone mental, charging up & down, popcorning away. Haggis runs but looks like he's not going anywhere then zooooom; he popcorned into a cardboard box - the thud! :)) Tait crashed into the readigrass bowl but didn't stop - they're hilarious together x) i run to get my camera to video them but the hamsters (in balls) crashed into the grids & put them off - either that or their batteries are flat :)):))

the minute that they see me in the morning they popcorn for their brekfast oh n biscuit goes mad popcorning when i hoover their vetbed!
she finds the hoover very exciting!

mine start popcorning & wheeeeeking as soon as they hear me opening the back door as they've realised that it's usually because I'm going out to cut them some grass. I'll be glad when they can go back outdoors in their run. The weathers still a bit to nippy here for them to go into their outside hutch yet.I'll really miss them being in the living room but I won't miss the racket they make throwing the food bowls against the side of the Nero 4 when I'm trying to watch telly.

sheeeeeeesh Niki can you please be prepared next time i'd soooooo love to see a vid of these boys together drooldrooldrool

my boys popcorn just at the sound of the fridge door opening....they automatically assukme it is their feedtime!

rolos the worst for it.

and when i give them their hay they do it, and i sing this little song to them (no laughing now) "they do the popcorn dance, rocky and rolo do the popcorn dance, just given half the chance, they will do the popcorn dance for you....." (its obviously contagious, cos not only doe sthat seem to make them jump around even more, but now the other half sings it to them too lol) :)p

I think Bob is the highest ranking popcorn-er :))

Anything can set him off. The noise of a door, the rustle of a bag, my voice, me sitting on a chair..anything.

The others are quite retiring when it comes to excitement. There have been times when they all belt around their hutches and hutches start rocking on their stands :))
