I saw that a lot of people like Range's hay. I have never given it to my guinea pigs or bought it. I want to know other's opinions about it's nutritional and enjoyable value.:D
I have given them Tesco and Burgess Excel Feeding Hay and I'm not sure if it is good for them. The Tesco hay does not say dust extracted so I am not sure whether is has been or not.

As long as hay is green, smells fresh and isn’t mouldy then where you get it from/which brand doesn’t entirely matter. Dust extracted is better but not all hays are.
I used to buy my hay by a large bale from a farm shop. It was always really lovely but they then stopped selling to the public so now I use haybox online and couldn’t be happier with it.

Thank you for the information! What about the length of the strands of hay?

The hay your piggies will eat is always best.
I know this probably sounds trite, but I have bought some bags of gorgeous hay over the years that the piggies have been seriously disinterested in.
I find that offering a variety is key to keeping them interested and happy.

Also it depends on hay type- meadow hay tends to be longer strands and is softer and is good for diving into face first or sitting in- timothy hay is tougher so better for the teeth and good to eat but not much fun to sit in and longer strands might poke them in the eye. Find one or several that suit your piggies and are consistently good quality!
We mostly but online and the piggies enjoy Pillow Wad meadow hay and Science Selective timothy hay, but recently a lot of us on the forum have been buying from Haybox which sells both timothy and meadow that is very good quality and comes in boxes not bags so has no plastic waste :)

Mine comes from my local farm. It is lovely fresh green organic hay. When we move (in 2 days!) I will have to find somewhere more local as I don't particularly want a 2 hour round trip every 4-6 weeks to get hay.

I buy meadow from my local farm shop ( its pretty green and long fine stems)

Timothy by alfalfa King from pets at home

And then b and m Timothy for when I can't be bothered to venture out far. Its a stones throw from my house.

Lastly, any cheap big bags of meadow hay for bedding down in. Aslong as it doesn't have thorns in. Which is mainly pot luck really to be fair
