Hi my boys Dave and Derek are 14 months old and I was just wondering what a healthy weight is for them as Dave weighs 1.28 kg and Derek weighs 1.38 kg they are both chunky boys so don't want to over feed them they get plenty of exercise is their weight OK for their age? X

Their weight is within the normal adult weight and size range of an adult guinea pig. Most are between 900-1300g.

Because weight and size can vary so enormously in young as in adult guinea pigs, you may find this link here helpful. It tells you how you can find out whether your boys are overweight or not, and what you can do if they are.
The first port of call is always to reduce the amount of pellets. 1/2 - 1 handful (ca. 10-20g) per piggy per day is enough for adult piggies. It is much healthier to let them eat hay instead.
The Importance Of Weighing - Ideal Weight / Overweight / Underweight

Weight can vary a lot. Some guinea pigs are very solid, others are petite. Their weights are within the normal range, as long as their diet is healthy and they are active I wouldn't worry too much!

thank you they have a small bowl of pelletts each day with a small mix of veg twice a day and more hay than ive ever seen in my life lol Derek is very chunky but he is very very fluffy so hides it well and Dave is my crested pew so hes solid but can look smaller than he is lol glad my boys are in the healthy weight range x
