a lethal is a guinea pig bred from two roan or dalmations, who has white fur, small or no eyes, deformed teeth, and various other health issues. They can have all or some of these symptoms. Generally they never make it past the first day of life, but some can live a fairly normal life, providing they have certain requirements met (eg. mushed up food, so that they can eat, and that you don't change their surroundings if they are blind or deaf)

Breeding 2 guinea pigs with white fur does not produce lethal guinea pigs. They come from a roan x roan mating (I'm pretty sure dalmation piggies come under this to but someone else will know for sure) and the babies are born white coated with deformaties such as no teeth, no eyes, blind, deaf and can often not live very long. If they do live they need alot of specialist care.

There are a pair of lethal brothers that are doing very well. They were born to a roan female bought from a petshop already pregnant here in South Wales, they came to me at 4 weeks old and stayed for a few months until they were big enough to make the journey to their forever home. They now live with Debbie at the Excellent Adventure GP Sanctuary. There are a few threads on The Lethal Brothers, now known as Bill & Ted, on the forum.

This thread shows how well the boys are doing.
