Hi i took bud to the vet 3 weeks ago for itching, seizures and the white bits on his fur (can be seen in photo) i have been given xeno 450 spot on which seemed to be helping but today he took a itching fit and ended up with blood on his face from itching. i phoned the vet to get results of skin sample she took but the tests showed nothing.
question 1 can i clean blood of with salt water
question 2 can anyone tell me what it looks like bud has i.e lice, mites

Aw poor baby, sorry i am not sure, however i would say it is a fungal infection or possibly ringworm, but not sure. I guess you can bath with salt water but until you know for sure just bath with warm water. Is the vets you go to Cavvy Savvy?

Hi the vet i go to is a 20min walk or it would take me 4hours on bus to go to another vet and with weather being so cold dont want to put bud through that i have only been twice but both times not really got answers from them she just said it looks like a fungal infection of some sorts and she would do the tests

A vet in the know of small furries would be able to diagnose such a condition, hopefully someone will see this and be able to advise what you should do.

Hi, my Jem had lice and he was left with a skin infection that looks like your picture. I cant see the pic that clearly though, but if you look at the skin and it looks sore then likely thats what it is. Jem is on baytril now and i know he was very uncomfortable with it. I wouldnt use salt water, it will sting. Just warm water. You will need antibiotics if it is an infection though. I hope you get sorted Xx

I would recommend calling or emailing Chrissie at Gorgeous Guineas. She has loads of experience and fantastic results with her products and where the usual remedies have failed her stuff nearly always worked. She is also a rodentologist as well and well placed to help.

Good luck and I hope he improves!

It looks to me as though it may be a fungal infection, I used the kwench lotion on my piggies fungal ears and it cleared it up in a week!

I also have the manuka & neem shampoo:)
