Have noticed my boys aren't that keen on tomatoes or carrot but they seem to adore cucumber, herb salad, baby corn cobs and brocolli! :aJFBQ00147070110B:

What are your piggies favourites?

My boys adore peppers(especially red), spinach and parsley.

To be honest though there isn't much they don't like apart from savoy cabbage and cauliflower florets.
x

Mine all love sprouts, melon, babycorn, cucumber, broccoli, parsley and dill. One of my piggies used to love peppers but wont touch them now...

my pigs ate sprouts the first time I gave them to them, then they just turned their noses up at themrolleyes

Oooh I didn't know they ate sprouts! That is their Christmas dinner sorted! :(|)

Ah yes, I gave them green peppers the other day. It seems when I am emptying their bowls, it is carrots and tomatoes I have to throw away.

Think they are loving celery too! And strawberries, only bought them once though, my BF goes mad at the money I spend!

Mine love fresh herbs, Dill, Parsley, Coriander and Basil.

I haven't bought any for ages now and was planning on treating them all to some herbs this shop. :))

Mine love:
Apple, pear, carrot, peppers, spinach, lettuce, cucumber, dwarf beans, celery, bean sprouts, cabbage, banana

They hate and will not touch:
Brocolli, Sprouts, turnip/swede, courgette, tomato

Mildred loves spinach and eats it so fast she chokes sometimes :{ I don't give her it often as it has high calcium content.
Bright Eyes loves tomatoes and runs off with them into the pigloo away from the others :))
Holly Dolly loves pepper - any colour - and will even steal it out of Mildred's mouth :o
Peggy and Poppy absolutely adore cucumber and wheek their heads off if they don't get any at veg time and leave most other veg as if to say "what no cucumber!" :(|)

Mine clear virtually everything off within minutes!

Celery is usually left until last and sometimes some bits of carrot.

mine love spinach, peppers (at room temperature? not straight from the fridge) celery leaves yes please celery not so much and generally always left to last cucumber

my girls go nuts for parsley and cucumber but also like ,apple, banana, red peppers, broc and cauli greens ...:):) thats there fav's x

mine love cucumber thats definately their favourite they also like spring cabbage salad leaves celery green beans and like carrots some days

They are costing me a fortune! :red :<>

I have run out of cucumber AGAIN!

I sometimes find in a morning before work, I don't have time to do their veg properly so will chuck in some leaves and hay and a few other bits. Is it best to prepare lots of veg in advance and leave it in a tub in the fridge?

What do you do?

My two absolutely adore cabbage, kale & carrots. Will be slowly trying them with other veggies as they get older. I didn't know they could eat sprouts either, will have to save them some from the christmas dinner lol.

i've just given my 2 boys some lettuce and they took it fom my hand for the very first time! so excited :(|)
they also love cucumber but not that keen on red pepper.
I think i'll have to get a piggie veg box and do a mass veggie cut up in the evenings to save time in the mornings. spent a load of cash so far on all the best veg.! lucky piggies:))

So far apples and parsley. They don't like cucumber, lettuce or cantaloupe but seem to like watermelon :)

Ours are weed enthusiasts, especially sow thistle and groundsel. They also scoff parsley, spinach, chicory, carrots, cucumber, apple, tomato, melon rind if they get lucky, but most of all, grass. They have slightly different tastes, but none of them will touch pepper, broccoli or cabbage.

Mocha's favourite is for sure parsley, If I don't put it on the top of their veg she digs and pushes everything out of the way so she can get to it.

Moo loves carrots more than anything, I usually give them 3 baby carrots at feeding time and moo always takes 1 and runs to the pigloo or the litter tray with it, takes a few bites and drops it then goes back for the others. She also really like peppers (I think she likes the yellow ones the most).

The rest of the stuff I give them and they eat but don't get really excited about it.

Oh sorry for the double post but if I was gonna say something they didn't really like I guess they don't like fruit as much as they like veg. Even if I only give them small amounts of fruit usually there is some left in the morning.

A new favourite

I'm always trying to find new stuff to vary things and the lates new favourite is parsnip! They really like it and it is just as popular as carrot. Someting else new and proving a hit are conference pears.

Recently I bought some dwarf beans when they were reduced and they loved them. So when they were allgone I thought "what the hay" and spent £1.50 on a pack(only cos there were no reduced ones :)). Organic ones too, needless to say - they wouldn't look at them rolleyes

They like apple, won't look at celerly or mini cobs - strangely if I buy a corn on the cob, untrimmed, they go crazy for the leaves and "hair" but will not eat the corn! Otherwise most things are as loved as the next tho cucumber comes out tops usually. Only one of my piggies likes pepper and then not green ones.

I try and get my veg from Lidl and Aldi cos they are so much cheaper. -c

grass, grass, more grassssssss

and green beans, but fine or extra fine for our little sensitive teeth...

Ours adore Parsley it is like a gift from the Gods, the only thing that may come close is spinach but we feed that in small amounts once a month as a treat. Celery leaves are a firm favourite also.

The only thing they've ever hated is Basil, we had to remove it from the cage and they wouldn't eat anything it had touched Lol....

Does anyone know what lettuce leaves are good for Piggles? I've heard Iceberg is bad for them..

Mine love broccoli, just like me. They eat the florets first and return to the stems later if they don't get anything better... Parsley and leafy greens are also favourites as well as peppers, especially red ones. When I bring cabbage they give me the "ok, we'll eat it... at least it's cooler than hay". Martha usually takes a nip of every piece to check if anything is a little more exciting than the rest:).
They also steal food from eachother even if there's plenty left in the bowl. Daft little things...

Dandelions. Hands down. Although I think coltsfoot flowers are also a big hit. They also love apple, but only get a small piece each (I divide my whole apple core into nine pieces).

little peanut is a herb enthusiast, basil, parsley (flat and curly), coriander and anything leafy! No cabbage though. Goes mad for weeds and grass and his fav treat is cucumber! He will eat green beans when everything else has gone.
Banana is his all time favourite! He eats skin and flesh and wheeks for more. Have to be oh so strong to not give in. Why are all the best things bad for you!
Trying courgette, watercress and kale this week. He takes alot of convincing to try new foods and i have to leave food in all day and do the same new items all week before he will start to eat them!

Mine eat just about anything but their favourites are cucumber, corn on the cob, kale, apple, celery, cauliflower leaves and carrots. Bernies favourite is definitley banana.
