The piggles have been indoors in an unheated room since September and I would like the furries to all go back outside in the spring. They have a thistle hall with a custom made hutch cover which is thermal insulated and rain proof. They also have the option of snugglesafes if required.

When is the best time to put them back out?

Thanks :)

My pigs live indoors in open pens during the Winter and, like you, they have a Thistle Hall & hutch cover for their outside living arrangements. I tend to just judge by the weather when it's a good time for them to go out, usually around end March/beginning April when the temperature is starting to rise. I usually stagger their move though so it's not too much of a shock. I start by putting them out for a couple of hours in the middle of the day first, then work up to half days then full days and then eventually 24 hours. I usually take about 2-3 weeks to get them up to full-time outdoor living. Hope this is helpful. :)

hi there
Mine start going out in the beginning of April and are moved out fully by the end of the month. I usually start by moving them from the shed into a run for an hour or so a day to get them used to the fresh grass and the outside air, I then increase this every day until they are out all day and then move their hutch outside. This was with my previous piggies, my newbies haven't had this experience so it'll be a treat for them in the spring.
Hope this helps.
