I adopted Bridget and Molly back in the summer as their owner was moving into a apartment and couldn't take them with her. She told me they were four but it has since transpiried that they were in fact five.

On friday we sadly lost Molly, she died in my arms....very distressing :'(

Thing is I dont know what to do about Bridget, she is inside so has lots of human company and she doesn't appear to be fretting at the moment she is eating as normal and is lapping up all the xtra attention we have heaped on her. When she goes back outside though in the late spring she will be rattling around in a big hutch on her own. I dont live anywhere near a rescue, closest one is several hours away. Should I get her a baby girl for company or do you think she will be ok on her own? She is a very strong character she usually loves a head rub BUT if she is not in the mood and doesn't want to be disturbed she will rumble at me...cheeky moo!

advice please ::)

Hi love, i saw your thread about Molly :'( 0:) 0:)
I'm pretty sure you'll be advised to get her a little friend maybe even two young sows :-\
Hopefully the lovely people on here that have owned girlies can advise you :)
Again i'd like to pass on our sympathy to you and little Bridget :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-* :-*

oh thanks so much Glynis for the lovely words, we are all still very upset and miss her so much. We had the funeral yesterday and I tried to say a few words but kept breaking down.

I thought the advice would be to get a friend or two, I do only have an adapted nero 3 inside which I dont think would be big enough for two babies and Bridget.

Also worry as she a bossy sow!

I know that Karen usually suggests taking the piggie to the rescue place or wherever and letting them choose a friend, perhaps you could try that :)

Tell you something i still cry when i go to where our Sully 0:) is buried i'm such a softy when it comes to animals, so i understand totally what you're going thru ((((((HUGS))))) time does help but it still hurts bad.... keep trying to remember and thinking about all the wonderful times you had with Molly i found that helped a bit :-* :-* :-*

Hi Glynis,

Am also big softie....tis how I ended up with pigs in the first place, had my work cut out with two kids a dog and a cat but couldn't say no to pigs when friend said she was desperate to find them good home.

My mum has said same as you to remember all the good times with her and also tell myself that in her last six months here she was spolit rotten!

Rescue idea would be great but I live hours away from the closest one.
