Clover_kins

Hi,

Clover hasn't improved after 4 days of anti biotics, so she had her other vet appointment today. He thinks that she has stones in her bladder (her urine is quite gritty) and wants to xray her and operate if she has.

My worry is, clover is almost 7... Is it a good idea to operate?, but if we dont operate, will she be in pain? I really don't know what to do (the vet did say that they could try and dissolve the stone but thats constant medication).

She's had a big op before and coped ok with anaesthetic.. but it was quite hard getting her to eat for quite a while after.

I would be grateful of any advice! I will be checking the forum at about half 5 this evening but then i have to go to scotland for a week (great timing :-[) I will get my mum or sister to check the forum.. They will be looking after clover this week.

Thanks for any help,
Nici

OK you need to speak to the people on gpdd in the USA there's a girl, Leah, who has had her little one with stones for ages and she does a water and shillitong clean out.
Please go to their site, Leah's info is on there and if you can't find it the admin people will help you.The site is 'guinea pigs daily digest' (aka gpdd.com)

Lots of water to help Clover pass these stones plus you need to speak to your vet and get their help and facilities. Leah's advice is to give lots of water and then also put Clover on her back and massage her lower body to stimulate the stones to pass. Gosh i'm not making this clear enough sorry. Pls check out her story she's had to do this for a really long time with her loved one Brownie Bear.

Good luck, piggie kisses and cuddles to Clover :-* :-* btw 7 is a grand old age you've done a great job well done :)
