New2piggies
Hi there, I have just adopted 2 piggies and one had longer hair ( Peruvian i believe, as the hair grows toward the face.) Her hair is quite dirty around her bum region. Secondly I know its normal for piggies to have bald spots behind the ears, is it normal for it to look or seem a little bit dry?
I have been searching the net trying to find out what is suitable to bath a pig in here in canada the only things I seem to find are superpet shampoos ( small animal shampoo ) Are thesse any good? I'm also worried about her bald spots...seeming a bit dry i dont want to dry them out anymroe by bathing her. But her Hair needs a wash so badly! Would johnsons baby shampoo work ? I'm worried about using products that might not be that great for them.
I am a first time piggy owner and I adopted these guys from a pet store not far from me, they were surrenders that someone just dropped off there! The long haired girl I am able to pick up and cuddle and doesnt run away once I'm near her, the other girl is a short hair ( what about baths for them? ) and she squeeks liek I'm hurting her when i havent even touched her yet, so I havent picked her up yet, I dont want to frighten her anymore! but whats funny is she will take food from my hand and the long hair girl she will not.....not a chance no way not gunna happen lol
It also almost seems like the short hair "picks on" the other.....if the long hair gets in her way she kinda almost lunges kinda at her and squeeks, should they be seperated or is this normal (pecking order).
The long hair her hair seems kind of choppy and i was reading that a cage mate can be "giving her a trim" or she could be doing it her self.
Any and ALL adivce is welcome, I have done sooooo much research that its all just a blur, and I'm confused on some things lol
