My piggy is 10 months opd and after many attempts of yrying diffrernt veg she will only eat kale spinhch and mix lettace! Ive tried leaving food out for long periods to see if ahe eat it when therea nothin else but dosnt work, alao she refueses hay ive tried all diff pets at home brands and readi grass she does like her nuggets though, anyways had he urine is a white colour i want 2 stop the spinch for a bit so jus wounderd what can i feed a picky eater or any other ways to get her to try new foods plus what hay would you recomend

Is your baby a lone piggy? Piggies on their own are notoriously fussy as they don't have other pigs to show them what to eat or to give food competition. I certainly recommend getting her a friend for her general well being too as they are social animals that need to live with their own kind :)

As for food, my pigs love chard and celery, as well as herbs like coriander and grass and weeds like plantain! They're certainly worth a go! My piggies didn't love sweet peppers initially but it's one of their favourite foods now.

Are you in the uk? I get my hay from www.timothyhay.co.uk as I struggled to find stuff they liked too. It's been a big hit and we've been using it for about 2 years now. It's great quality too :)

Yes shes a lone pig i have been told that as shes been alone for a qhile now that she wont accept another one and yes I'm uk will look st that thanks

Unfortunately lots of places say that but it's not true, piggies are social creatures and in my experience accept a friend readily rather than be alone so giving them a friend is the best thing you can do for her! :)

How old is she? :) How long has she been on her own?

Mmmm well shes about 11 months and been alone 8 months

Oh that's no time at all! My Iggy was alone about that, some before I got him where he fell out with his brother and some while he was with me and poorly. He now lives with 4 wives :D

I am sure your sow would love to have the right character compatable friend. The best way to find her one is at a reputable rescue that offers a bonding service. To see if there is one near you look here Guinea Pig Rescue Centre Locator
I have not long had a six month old boar who has been on his own since he was 5 or 6 weeks, I am looking for a suitable friend for him. He is living alongside two of my other boars now after not seeing another guinea pig for months, he gets so excited every time one of them makes a noise I can't wait for him to have the chance of his own companion.

Mmmm might considir sadley theres not a centee near me though

Where are you from? If you add your location to your profile it will help us to help you in the future too :)

Have a good read of the links on the forum and the importance of piggies being in pairs and such, there's loads of information to help :)

Hi, you say she likes her nuggets. How many are you feeding her? I ask as perhaps if she has too many nuggets available, she will be filling up on those which will reduce her hay intake
Nuggets should be offered on a limited basis, as they should be eating lots of yummy hay mainly.
Your piggy is still young and hopefully will live for many many years, it’s not too late to introduce her to a friend. It’s so important for piggies to have companionship of their own kind.
Let us know how you get on :)

she as a handfull a day which fills her bowl about half way

My two young ones Rosie and Daisy didn't eat hay at the beginning which is suspected because they were hardly if ever fed it. Your pig might be the same. Another thing which I have not found any pig to dislike is fresh grass. Although it isn't quite hay, it's still similar. When Polo went off her food for the afternoon she happily ate the grass given to her. Eating grass might be a more tempting introduction to hay.

so after comments on here and facebook groups i went on the hunt yesterday for a friend apparently there a shortage of female piggys in my area, however i finay found on last night and going 2 see her and hopfully pick her up 2day :)

Have a good read of the bonding information on the forum.
It’s not as simple as just putting 2 piggies together.
Your newbie will need a few days to settle into her new environment and get used to the sounds and smells and recover from her move before you introduce her to your girl.
The bonding information has guides to help ensure the best outcome for everyone.
Hope it goes well and let’s have some pics when you can
