Penny's name at the humane society was Gigi. She definitely doesn't look like a Gigi  Can't beat Cocoa's humane society name, though! She was named Lumpy! And then I originally changed her name to Erin for a month! Definitely content with the names Penny and Cocoa :)

Piggle and Puggle were nameless little piglets, "the blonde one" and "the ginger one". Theo was originally Theodore, it sort of suits him so we kept it but abbreviated. Jezzy and Clover were called Jessica and Chloe which I couldnt be doing with as so many of my students are called those names its kind of anonymous yet conjures up images of 19 year olds with ponytails wearing gym leggings and trainers, and Jezzy and Clover are both comfortably middle aged!
Blodwen originally had another pretty welsh name but her previous owner seemed like a bit of a psycho so... she's just Blodwen, piggy daddy decided and named her and registered her at the vets with her new name when she had her first emergency vet appointment less than 12 hours after she arrived, she's just our Blodwen pig, forever now :)

I’m a little bit gutted that you didn’t keep her as Lumpy! :))

Sprout was originally named Bob. Not a fan of human names for animals, plus I know a person named Bob, so Bob (guinea pig) got renamed!

Spud was George, but it really didn’t suit him.

Some great names here. Lumpy omg.

Wanda was Ruby and Connie was Doris. I liked Doris but mum didn't and idk we knew a lot of Rubys.

Owen and Russell were Pip and Squeak. Not sure who was who.

Amber and Misty, the second has since gone to the rainbow bridge, were Hugs and Kisses. Again not sure who was who.

The best was old kindergarten pet Mr. GP Puddles who lived comfortably in retirement with me as Gully.

My Prince was called Zeno when we adopted him from RSPCA. Hubby changed it to Prince, in honour of Prince Harry, because he is a ginger. :D

When we adopted Sierra from Hartwells Rescue in Northampton, she didn't have a name yet (she was around 5 weeks old that time). Sierra was named after Sierra Nevada. :tu:

My other piggy, Cookie, was bought from PAH. Her name just came up while we were in the car going home with her.

My past piggies (my first 2) who were also adopted from RSPCA were called Tinky Winky and Lala. We renamed them Meemee and Deedee, in honour of my 2 bestfriends back in the Philippines (it's not their real names, I just got a syllable and doubled it haha).

Timmy was Timmy when we adopted him from RSPCA. We didn't change it because it suited him.

My last piggy that passed away was bought from PAH and we named her Bunny. She looked like a little rabbit when we got her, so Bunny it is.

Connie was called Connie but I kept the name at the previous owners request (she originally belong to two children who’d lost interest after Connies cage mate had died)

Eliza didn’t have a name as I brought her from PAH as a friend for Connie

Eleanor was Lilac girl

Erin was Betsy

Ena was Sophie

Enoch was Bambo

Emma was Rosie

Erika was Charlotte

Ellen was Cila

Edward was Charlie

Wow I'm impress that you can remember all those names! :))

Two of my three rescue piggies have their original names, Mavis and Peggy, and i only changed Georgie's very slightly from Geordie. The names seemed to fit their personalities so i didn't feel a need to change them.
The skinnies were named by us, Dora because she explores everywhere (she gut stuck upstairs in the cage on her first day with us as she couldn't work out how to get back down the ramp) and Ginger (aka Ginger no nuts since he was neutered) because the small bit of hair he has is that colour.

I don't tend to go for human names either but my two foster boys are Ted and Nigel, and I don't change foster names.

A lady I work with finds it hilarious that I have a Nigel, as that's her husbands name.

Ours had their names when we rescued them and we never considered changing them. Although we do have nicknames for them.

Tinker is Stinker cause he never does what you want him to.
Tommy is Tomster the Monster cause he was our trouble maker when we got them.
Tiny is Houteeny cause he gets and escapes from places you would not think was possible.

So you're the owner of those lovely skinnies boarding in The Guinea Collected? 😍😍😍

My rescues were Steve and Alan - and became Vlad and Boris. Jack was called Jack-Jack so I just shortened it. My two new girls were Kitty and Pony (the rescue was naming them after animals!) Kitty stuck but Pony became Tina as she has long hair and looks like Tina Turner!😂
