This morning I made the mistake of leaving Biscuit and Toffee in their play pen while I went out for a couple of hours. I thought they'd be fine. Unfortunately they managed to escape (I'm not really sure how they managed it - they did it once before but I thought I'd made it secure since then) and when I came home not only was the carpet covered in poops, they'd been stripping the wallpaper as well. When I opened the door they both froze for a second and looked very guilty
But now I'm frightened that it will have done them some harm. Do think they'll be ok?

I would just monitor them both over 48 hours.the paper will not hurt.I'm not sure about any paste used to put wall paper up.buts it's a small amount ,I would just observe for poo output.Mischevous piggies !

They will be OK.

Some of my own home decorators (and I have had a few of them over the years) have lived to 8 years and none of them have ever shown any problems. :tu:

Thank you, that's good to know :)

Just goes to show how determined boars can be!
I've had a sow who didn't like to be confined to a temporary enclosure. She escape every time. And another one managed to get to her boar when I placed them in different boxes while rearranging the cage, each of them was sitting with one of their daughters.
All piggies can be very determined. :yikes:

I have a cupboard in the living room that has been re sculptured over the years by various guinea pigs, Spike was the worst. Brillo liked skirting board. Now they all have bigger cages they don't have floor time anymore.
