Wheat grass and other sprouting grasses

What are your thoughts on growing grasses for guinea pigs like wheat,barley,rye, oat grasses in stead of veggies does anyone do this? I’m looking for info on it thanks.

Do you mean feeding them grass in place of all veg? There are several members in here who grow grass on windows for their piggies - I’ve joined the party. Remember you introduce them to grass slowly. But otherwise you do still need to feed veg.

If the piggies are out on the grass a long time then I tend to not give them their veg for the day. They just get the pellets.

Yes I was trying to figure out if they are getting fresh green grass if I have to feed them veggies or if I could stop while they are on grass all day when it’s nice

I still give mine some veg when mine are on grass all day albeit in reduced amounts

Thanks that’s helpful this is the first year I have been able to put them out side all day since I got them an enclosure.
