Hi everyone!

So I was feeding my little ones wheatgrass daily and otherwise a super low calcium diet. I thought wheatgrass was a great choice. Unfortunately I saw white gritty stains EVERYWHERE and was really confused. Anyway I stopped wheatgrass because I can't afford it right now and I felt so terrible, but now there are no more white stains so my conclusion is it's high in calcium. I want to get some as treats now only. I couldn't find anything online saying it was high in calcium. Their water their pellets and veggies are all low calcium and they are 1.5 years old... so still young. Anyway just wanted to share.

Wheatgrass is an excellent source of many different vitamins and minerals. It is especially high in vitamins A, C and E, as well as iron, magnesium, calcium and amino acids

Google sais this. So yea high in calcium apparently.

Feed timothy hay and meadow☺

At least you have found out now before a bigger problem could develop. Thank you for pointing it out though. As I have a pig with bladder problems, I’ll have to stay away from wheatgrass :(
